David Baldwin, an aspiring author, born and raised in Washington, D.C; grew up in the southeast section of the city, often dodging stumbling blocks of a life in the inner city. After several years of fighting the streets, he graduated from the neighborhood high school, Ballou Senior High.
David was unsure of the path he was destined to choose as a career, but he successfully acquainted himself with an individual who saw something special in his personality and spirit. His new friendship landed him a job as a messenger for a corporate law firm in the downtown area of Washington, DC. Through his hard work and talented skills, Baldwin proved himself to the law firm and became a manager within seven years. With his successful career as a manager, Baldwin realized he was in a position to give back to the black youth in his community. So he began volunteering his time to coach football for six years for the #11 Boys & Girls club in S.E. Washington, DC, to help improve the lives of the young black males who replicated his own experiences. After 17 years of managing a staff of 13 people and 3 departments for the law firm, Baldwin heard the call – It was time to dedicate more time to his passion for writing.
