The Art of Weakness

I have many weaknesses, and will shamefully admit that I am a softy for shoes. It may not be wise for me to volunteer this information and reveal that I wouldn’t be an easy target for someone to hold my valuables for ransom. See, I would be willing to let go of the precious items most of us think are valuable items; like pictures, clothing, jewelry, food, awards, insurance policies; etc. You see my thinking is very odd and different from normal people. I hate clutter, and I am not the perfect candidate for scrap-booking my photos and greeting cards; and the kidnapping of my clothes wouldn’t get much of my attention because I barely tear the tags off of the clothing in my closet now. The food, jewelry, and insurance policies contain room for alternative thinking. I can always go to mom’s house to eat, the jewelry I really treasure I wear; the other pieces can be replaced, and the insurance policies, birth certificates, wills, etc — well my attorneys, insurance agents and government agencies have original and electronic copies of these items. It’s a win, win victory for me.

The kidnapper’s tactics would have to be very crafty in order to convince me that I really need to pay a large sum of money to retrieve items I already own but have no real value to me. I would try to use reverse psychology and convince the kidnappers to pay me instead. I would be willing to walk away in exchange for the same amount or value of my belongings they possess — for gift cards for my shoe addiction. A girl can dream, right?

What’s your weakness? I hope it’s as weak as mine!

  1. Very Interesting. I love shoes too, but I will cave if someone kidnap my other belongings.

Thanks Savvy Diva, keep up the good writing.
